About Dr. Jarryd Harvey (TCM)

Jarryd was first introduced to alternative medicine and natural therapies at the age of 19 through his own personal health journey.

After battling a chronic health disease that was unable to be fully addressed by Western Medicine, Jarryd turned to Chinese Medicine for answers.

In addition to holistic dietary and lifestyle changes, Chinese Medicine was able to bring full remission to his chronic illness, along with sparking a whole new life path in holistic healing for Jarryd.

Since recovering, it has become Jarryd’s life purpose to reduce the pain and suffering of others by assisting them along their pathway towards full health and happiness.

Jarryd holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, completing his studies in Melbourne at Southern School of Natural Therapies.

Through his studies, Jarryd was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to study at the Tzu Chi Teaching Hospital in Tapei, Taiwan, whereby he observed and studied in an integrated Chinese and Western Medical Hospital.

He has also volunteered and worked at Traditional Healthcare India, treating a wide range of infectious, muscularskeletal and chronic health issues in less fortunate communities.

With a passion for massage, Jarryd has completed studies in Shiatsu and Zen Thai Shaitsu, both practises which he often incorporates into his acupuncture treatments.

Through his commitment for self healing, he discovered the power of food as medicine.

In 2023, Jarryd undertook work on an Ayuverdic herbal farm in Kauai, Hawaii, learning to connect with Eastern Medicine from a different perspective and to deepen his connection to the nature.

His recent time in the US also sent him to Chicago where he did further studies with one of his mentors, Ann Cecil Sterman. Jarryd is a classical Chinese Medicine practitioner, meaning that he has sought out and studied further knowledge in a powerful system of acupuncture that has been handed down from teacher to student for generations. He works with the complement channels of Acupuncture, an 88th generation unbroken lineage.

Treatments are therefore focused on tailoring specific treatment protocols for each individual patient with the use of hands on bodywork, acupuncture, herbal medicine, food as medicine and meditation exercises where necessary.

It is in Jarryd’s firm belief that Chinese Medicine has the ability to provide safe and effective treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions.
